Grow
Responsible agriculture, efficient water use, soil health, integrated pest management.
At Hastai, sustainability is part of how we grow, handle, pack and export fresh produce — reducing avoidable loss, using resources responsibly, and building a more resilient value chain.

Figures for FY 2025–26. As our measurement systems mature, this section will expand with per-acre and per-tonne resource data.
Six stages, one produce manifest — from the vine and field to the export container.
Responsible agriculture, efficient water use, soil health, integrated pest management.
Careful harvesting, quality preservation, reduced crop damage.
Quality sorting, responsible packaging, resource efficiency.
Protecting freshness, extending shelf life, reducing deterioration.
Cold-chain management, quality preservation, reducing avoidable food loss.
High-quality produce, international markets, responsible delivery.
Six areas where our day-to-day operations are strengthening the way we grow, handle and export.

We are strengthening responsible crop-production practices through efficient irrigation, soil-health management, integrated pest management and improved farm traceability.

Water is one of the most important resources in agriculture. Our farming operations use drip irrigation across our full agricultural area, and we are building systems to measure and improve water efficiency.
100% DRIP IRRIGATION
Our 120 kW solar installation supports our post-harvest operations, including packhouse, pre-cooling and cold-storage activities.
120 kW SOLAR CAPACITY
Fresh produce is highly perishable. Pre-cooling, cold storage, careful handling, quality sorting and efficient packaging all help us reduce avoidable post-harvest losses.

We are reviewing our export packaging for recyclability and reduced material use, ahead of tightening EU packaging regulation (PPWR) applying from August 2026.

Every harvest depends on the people who grow, handle and prepare our produce. We are strengthening worker welfare practices — safe working conditions, training and PPE — in line with the standards international retail buyers expect.
6 EMPLOYEES · ~50 FARM & OPERATIONAL WORKERSRegulatory context: EU PPWR becomes generally applicable 12 Aug 2026 — a live compliance topic, not a general claim.
Sustainability is a journey from doing the right things to understanding their impact. We are strengthening our data systems to establish reliable baselines, measure progress and set meaningful targets.
Measure. Improve. Scale.
Maintain 100% drip irrigation and begin measuring water consumption.
Track solar generation and renewable-energy contribution.
Establish a post-harvest loss baseline and work towards measurable reductions.
Measure packaging intensity and increase recyclable packaging, ahead of EU PPWR requirements.
Strengthen safety, training and welfare monitoring.
Strengthen soil health, IPM, traceability and responsible crop production.
Supporting context for our sustainability work — not the centre of our story.
Reducing post-harvest loss, improving food availability.
100% drip irrigation across operations.
120 kW solar powering post-harvest infrastructure.
Safe conditions and training for our workforce.
Recyclable packaging, resource efficiency.
Renewable energy and climate-resilient practices.

Our goal is not simply to produce high-quality fresh produce. It is to continuously improve how we use water and energy, protect food from unnecessary loss, support our people, and strengthen the resilience of our agricultural operations.
